Industrial Platform Scales for Warehouses, Workshops and Plants

Platform, pallet and floor scales in mild steel and stainless steel, with indicators, printers and integration options — supplied, calibrated and serviced by Hunter Weighing from our Teralba workshop.

Choose a platform scale by capacity

Start with the heaviest item you'll weigh, then add a margin so the scale isn't working at its limit every day. This table shows the range we currently list. For other capacities or sizes, ask us — we'll tell you whether a platform scale or a weighbridge is the better fit.

    Platform sizes range from compact 1.2 m x 1.2 m pallet scales to 2 m x 2 m drive-on floor scales.

1–2 tonne floor and pallet scales

The everyday workhorse for warehouses, 3PL, freight and manufacturing. A 1.2 m x 1.2 m deck takes a standard Australian pallet, and a 1–2 tonne capacity covers most loaded pallets, IBCs and bins. Typical jobs include checking inbound deliveries, weighing outbound freight for consignment notes, and stock control.

Heavy-duty platform scales above 2 tonnes

For steel, machinery parts, heavy pallets and batching, we supply larger and higher-capacity floor scales up to 2 m x 2 m and 5 tonnes. If your loads are heavier — or arrive on a vehicle — a weighbridge may be the right tool, and our heavy-duty industrial scales guide compares the options.

Pit-set or above-ground mounting, and ramps

Most platform scales sit on the floor and are loaded by forklift. If you load with a pallet jack or trolley, add a ramp or set the scale into a shallow pit so the deck is flush with the floor. Pit-setting removes the step but needs floor work and keeping the pit clean; a ramp is quicker to install and easy to move.

Mild steel, stainless steel and harsh environments

Painted mild-steel decks suit warehouses and workshops. For food processing, washdown, chemical or wet areas, stainless steel and IP-rated load cells resist corrosion and handle regular cleaning.

    Trade-approved vs non-trade platform scales

If you sell or charge by weight — freight by weight, product sold by the kilo — the scale must be an NMI-approved pattern and verified for trade use. For internal checks, batching or stock control, a non-trade scale is usually enough and costs less. Tell us how the weight will be used and we'll specify accordingly.

    Indicators, printers and integration

Every platform scale is paired with a weight indicator. Options include label and ticket printers, and data connections to ERP, WMS or shipping systems so weights go straight into your records without retyping.

    Supply, calibration and service

    • Supply and installation of the scale, indicator and accessories.
    • Calibration with certified test weights, and verification for trade-use scales.
    • Scheduled servicing and repairs, including load cell replacement.

Pricing and lead time depend on capacity, deck size, finish and trade approval — request a quote with your requirements and we'll confirm both.

    FAQ

    Frequently asked questions

Take your heaviest typical load and add a margin. For loaded pallets, 1–2 tonnes is common; for heavy industrial items, 2–5 tonnes. Above that, talk to us about whether a weighbridge suits better.

    A 1.2 m x 1.2 m deck suits a standard Australian pallet. Larger decks up to 2 m x 2 m suit oversized loads.

Only if the weight is used to buy, sell or charge — for example freight by weight (see also truck weight compliance). Trade scales must be an NMI-approved pattern and verified. For internal use, a non-trade scale is usually fine.

A ramp is quicker and cheaper and the scale can be moved. A pit puts the deck flush with the floor, which suits frequent pallet-jack or trolley loading.

Yes. Stainless steel with IP-rated load cells suits food, washdown, chemical and wet environments.

Yes. We can supply ticket and label printers and connect the indicator to ERP, WMS or shipping software.

Many sites calibrate every 6 to 12 months, more often for heavy use or harsh conditions. Trade scales must be re-verified after repairs that could affect accuracy.
