    Multi-Deck Weighbridge Relocation — 33m

Relocation and recommissioning of a 33-metre multi-deck weighbridge (2 x 16.5m), completed over a single weekend during site closure hours, on budget and inside the client's time constraints.

    Project overview

    Overview

A bulk handling and container logistics site needed an existing 33-metre multi-deck weighbridge — made up of two 16.5-metre modules — moved to a new location on site. Hunter Weighing managed the full relocation: disconnection, lift and transport of the decks, new foundation set-out, reinstallation, load cell fit-off, wiring, indicator and traffic light installation, then calibration and recommissioning.

    Challenge

    The challenge

The weighbridge is central to the site's inbound and outbound movements, so it could not be taken out of service during operating hours. The entire relocation had to be completed within a single weekend closure window, working through early mornings and after dark, while keeping the existing deck modules, load cells and control equipment undamaged for reuse.

    Solution

    Our solution

Hunter Weighing planned the works around the closure window and mobilised a crew with a crane on the Saturday morning to lift and shift both 16.5-metre decks. Load cells, junction boxes and cabling were refitted at the new position, the remote indicator mast and traffic light control were reinstalled, and the bridge was tested and calibrated on the Sunday so it was ready for the first truck on Monday morning.

    Outcome

    The outcome

The relocated multi-deck weighbridge was recommissioned and weighing accurately within the single weekend closure — delivered on budget and comfortably inside the client's time constraints, with no disruption to weekday site operations.
